My husband, Yong and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary last Tuesday, September 19th. We had dinner at Shangri-la Mactan Resort’s Italian restaurant, “Acqua”. We usually celebrate our anniversary or my birthday (Valentine’s Day) there because Yong knows that it is my favorite place here in Cebu. Formerly called Paparazzi, the place just finished its renovation and I was surprised at the change. Although the food was excellent, as usual, I still prefer the old Paparazzi’s ambience. Personally, it was very romantic and the lighting was more relaxing and pleasing to the eyes.

WALK

I did it! I joined the 1st University Run last Sunday and crossed the finish line, clocking in at 54:22. Although, I didn’t run… I walked, together with my brother, Kuya Jomar, who flew in from Manila to support the cause, my teacher Mrs. Lovec Edrial (thanks for the water, ma’am!) and Yong’s Sight First Clinics family — Jessica and her husband, Mitch, Marivic and her husband, Doctor Kim, Doctor Elna, Roxanne and Nido.

No, I am not into running…yet! Although I know the benefits, my body is not ready and fit enough…yet! Taking care of my two kids, playing, running around, even just watching them burn their energies is so exhausting that it is enough workout for me…for now. I know I have to exercise and prepare myself for this type of sport. I know that one must have the determination, guts and focus to run. And I know, I will get there soon enough! In the meantime, I can run just for fun and games! More…

TSUNAMI (Part 2)

(Last of Two Parts)

Having barely escaped the tsunami tragedy, it was actually a fun and meaningful journey for all of us. I would really recommend going on a cruise trip if you plan to go on a vacation with your family. It is a great way to relax and spend time with them without being too stressed out. The family was aboard the SuperStar Virgo by Star Cruises as a gift from Mommy and Daddy.

TSUNAMI

The tsunami in Java, Indonesia that happened last Monday reminded me of the tsunami in December 2004. No, we were not there, thank God, we were actually on board a cruise ship, coming from Penang, Malaysia on our way to Phuket! Had we docked earlier (apparently, we missed the tsunami by a mere eight hours), who knows what would have happened! More…
