“This is a charcoal drawing of Ate Donna Cruz Y. Larrazabal. I drew Ate Donna at a time I was trying to learn how to do charcoal drawing. The photo reference is a colorful one, which kind of became a challenge to turn it into a charcoal drawing. I mustered courage to draw her details especially that her eyes are my favorite. I did try my best to achieve the expression in her face from the photo.”I grew up drawing her and I am still going to draw her until I grow better as an artist. She will always be my muse and my idol.“I also wanted to combine the knowledge and skills I learned from watching Youtube on how to create a good portrait. She’s been my muse since the time I tried drawing. In fact, she is one of the two faces I could draw ever since I began drawing. I’ve done ballpen, pencils and even oil pastels. I grew up drawing her and I am still going to draw her until I grow better as an artist. She will always be my muse and my idol.”
Manzen “Chin” Castillo is from Bacoor, Cavite. Chin is currently self-employed and loves drawing, painting, and writing.
Webcomic character by Manuel Fernando Fernandez

“I created Olesie in 2018. The character, named Angela, is the light in a world of darkness. I based Angela off a friend was much younger than the character’s age, so it was hard to see a huge part of Angela’s person until I became a fan of Ate Donna in 2021.”I hope to create something out of Ate Donna’s personality and career which I hope inspires others in a new way she probably never thought she would be able to.“I saw a lot of Angela in her. That led me to mold Angela to be reminiscent of Ate Donna. Examples are that she originally did not wear a headband, but now she does. Also, I knew even back then that Angela becomes a celebrity, much like Ate Donna, because of her heroic acts. But now, she has a hit single in the story, Tumitibok-Tibok, inspired by Kapag Tumibok ang Puso. I hope to create something out of Ate Donna’s personality and career which I hope inspires others in a new way she probably never thought she would be able to.”
Manuel Fernando Fernandez is from Cainta, Rizal. He is 22 and a Graduating AB Political Science student in St. Paul University Quezon City. Manuel likes writing, playing musical instruments, and collecting vinyl records and cassette tapes.
